Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will be responsible for project delivery and site management, ensuring technical compliance and stakeholder engagement while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Take initial responsibility for site set-up and technical compliance with project design
Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders
Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned project resources in alignment with the project program
Plan and organize work, plant, and site facilities to meet agreed timelines and milestones
Undertake or coordinate continuous snagging/punch listing, ensuring timely resolution
Manage Permit to Work systems as required
Act as the focal point for resolving unexpected technical issues to avoid project delays
Undertake Site Manager responsibilities when required
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, site managers, supervisors, and workforce
Provide timely progress updates, reports, and technical documentation to the Project Manager and other stakeholders
Liaise regularly with all parties to ensure smooth project operation and resolution of issues
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across all activities
Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement on site
Monitor project progress to identify variations, delays, and risks, escalating as appropriate
Commercial & Continuous Improvement
Propose and implement cost-effective technical solutions and design improvements
Maintain commercial awareness to minimize costs to Clarke Energy and its customers
Support knowledge transfer, coaching, and mentoring within the team

Required

Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles
Demonstrated site management experience
Knowledge of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements
Familiarity with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and EPC project delivery
Experience with CHP installations, steam-raising plants, and ancillary equipment
Previous experience in power generation, data centers, or large industrial installations
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or U.S. equivalent) or related technical discipline highly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective time management and workload prioritization
Ability to coach, mentor, and support junior team members
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills across all levels
Ability to motivate, persuade, and influence others effectively
