This role is responsible for network monitoring, configuration, and management of various networking devices, including hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches, and cloud platforms like OCI, GCP, and AWS.

Responsibilities

Monitoring network performance, detect anomalies, and troubleshoot network issues using SolarWinds Orion software, Kibana etc

Analyze network logs and provide recommendations for performance optimization

Configure and maintain Cisco routers, Cisco switches, load balancers (including NGINX), and firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto)

Implement and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, HSRP etc.)

Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and security patching

Manage network security policies and firewall rule configurations

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms like OCI, GCP, AWS

Participate in on-call rotations ( including weekends) to support network incidents and service disruptions

Provide timely resolution to escalated network issues and coordinate with senior engineers if needed

Occasionally travel to customer locations and remote data centers for on-site support, installation, and troubleshooting

Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth network operations

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

3 to 5 years of experience in network engineering or a related field

Strong knowledge of Cisco routers, Cisco switches, load balancers (including NGINX) and firewalls (Cisco or Palo Alto)

Experience working on cloud environments (GCP AWS, etc.)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred

CCNA or equivalent networking certification

Experience with scripting (Python, Terraform, Bash) for network automation

Understanding of IT security best practices and compliance standards
