InternRK&K is a full-service engineering and construction management firm seeking a Transportation Design Intern to join their Highways team in Roanoke, VA. In this role, you will receive on-the-job training and collaborate with experienced transportation engineering professionals while gaining insight into the design processes for linear transportation projects.

Responsibilities
Work on projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region including field data collection, design of roadway, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, maintenance of traffic / construction work zones, corridor planning, cost estimating and collaborating with team members to develop creative solutions to complex challenges
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Valid driver's license
Preferred
Participation in professional societies (ASCE, ASHE, etc.)
Applicable prior intern (Co-Op) experience
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or GIS
