Materials Engineering - Spring 2026 Intern

Reditus Space is a company focused on building technology for space missions. They are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Materials Engineering Intern to support the development and qualification of advanced thermal protection systems for the ENOS reentry capsule.

Aerospace

Responsibilities

Fabricate carbon–phenolic ablative materials using thermal cure and layup processes
Mix and handle thermoset resins and composite reinforcement fabrics
Prepare mechanical and thermal test specimens and assist in characterization
Support materials testing campaigns at NASA and partner facilities
Maintain detailed records of fabrication methods, procedures, and results

Required

Student or recent graduate in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, or technical trades

Willingness to travel for testing and fieldwork
Eagerness to learn and contribute to a flight-critical subsystem

Preferred

Hands-on experience with composites, polymers, or high-temperature materials
