Nanofabrication Facility Technician - College of Engineering - Electrical and Computer Engineering

Responsibilities
The ability to follow all laboratory and University safety regulations
Performing routine preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing the Nanofabrication Facility and equipment, and assisting Nanofab staff with the same
Performing installation of new equipment, modification of existing equipment and facilities, and assisting Nanofab staff with the same
Maintaining lab part and supply inventories, identifying new and replacement parts, and ordering lab supplies (requires work with outside vendors in collaboration with Procurement Services, Nanofab staff, and the Nanofab Executive Director)
Maintaining the Nanofab garment inventory and ensuring rotation of garments on a timely basis
Cleaning and lab maintenance required for maintaining cleanroom cleanliness standards
Assisting with the training and monitoring of work study students performing both administrative and lab maintenance tasks
May be required to train Nanofab users, staff, and others on equipment operation and lab procedures, and may be required to perform equipment services upon request from the Executive Director
Working with or around hazardous chemicals, materials, or processes, some of which may require personal protective equipment
Creating, maintaining, and assisting with documentation of lab procedures, maintenance procedures, lab forms, and equipment logs
Qualification
Required
Associates degree or equivalent education
1 to 3 years of experience in relevant area (electrical and/or mechanical background preferred)
Or a combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated
