Elaine Santos Design is a design studio located in lower Manhattan, seeking a part-time Architect/Interior Designer with 2-4 years of project management experience. The role involves managing multiple projects, engaging with clients and vendors, and handling various project phases including Schematic Design and Construction Documents.

Architecture

Responsibilities

Manage more than one project at one time-varying in size
Responsible for all or some of the project phases such as; Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Custom Millwork Detail, and Shop Drawings Review
Produce/manage CD sets
Coordinate with consultants/contractors
Engage in client + vendor relations
Source + coordinate finishes, fixtures, furniture, lighting, textiles, and window treatments
Review shop drawings and draft interior plans, elevations + details

Required

2-4 years full-time experience at an architecture or interior design firm
Eligible to work in the U.S
Skilled in producing/managing CD sets
Strong project management + consultant/contractor coordination
Experience with client + vendor relations
Knowledge of NYC design resources (hard materials, millwork, textiles, plumbing, lighting, hardware, etc.)
Familiar with NY/NYC/CT building codes
Able to source + coordinate finishes, fixtures, furniture, lighting, textiles, and window treatments
Proficient in reviewing shop drawings and drafting interior plans, elevations + details
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in creating coordinated construction document sets and millwork drawings
Resolves technical and code issues
Experience in reviewing contractor RFPs & RFI's
MUST be highly CAD proficient and comfortable in Word, Excel, In-Design, and Photoshop

Preferred

Experience in residential work is preferred
Residential experience a plus
