Yacht Administrator - Accounting

The role involves providing administrative support to yacht captains and owners, preparing budgets, financial reports, and processing payments while ensuring effective communication and coordination within the Yacht Management division.

Responsibilities

Prepare an annual budget & monthly variance
Create monthly funding requests based on the approved budget
Credit card, bank account, and cash reconciliation
Prepare and submit monthly financial reports
Process invoice payments
Process payroll
Crew mail and shipping

Required

Fluency in English is required; the ability to speak a second language is a plus
Excellent computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required
Working knowledge & utilization of QuickBooks accounting software is mandatory
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, captains, and yacht management team
Ability to efficiently prioritize and multi-task is essential
Attention to detail and follow-up is key
General knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) is required
Minimum of 2 years working experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping
Ability to work in the office full time during regular office hours
Work is conducted most often indoors in an air conditioned, illuminated office environment and periodically outdoors, meeting with yacht captains and crew aboard vessels, at ports, and on floating barges
Local, national, and international travel is occasionally required, ranging from day to week-long trips
Ability and willingness to travel for boat shows, visit yacht owners, captains, yachts and attend other yacht industry or company events as necessary
Utilization of standard office equipment, as needed, in the working environment
Motor skills and senses needed to carry out duties to include talking, listening, typing, writing, and visual inspection of documents & other relevant materials
Light lifting, pushing, walking, climbing ladders and/or stairs on boats and climbing into small spaces

Preferred

Working experience in the cruise or yachting industry is preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. May be substituted for relevant work experience
