Electrical Engineer/Designer
Salas O’Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for their clients and the world. The Electrical Engineer/Designer will design electrical systems for various building types, including high-rise and commercial spaces, while ensuring quality control and coordination with MEP teams.

Responsibilities
Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for various facility types
Produce electrical design drawings using Revit software
Perform field investigations to assess existing conditions and gather project data
Ensure quality control, scheduling, and programming of electrical design deliverables
Coordinate and communicate progress with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) teams
Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and short-circuit analysis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering field
5+ years of experience in electrical design and construction
demonstrated project coordination and facilitation experience
solid understanding of power distribution, emergency power systems, grounding, and lighting design
experience with breaker coordination, arc flash studies, and voltage drop calculations
familiar with electrical codes (NEC), energy efficiency standards (IECC), and industry best practices
have experience with high-rise electrical systems, hospitality power infrastructure, and renewable energy integration
Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm
Strong verbal and written communication skills for design and specifications
Proficiency in Revit
Ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and contractors
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward
