Estimating Manager
Odin is an award-winning contractor delivering turnkey environmental, geotechnical, and civil construction projects nationwide. They are seeking an Estimating Manager responsible for providing corporate estimating support, managing estimators, and ensuring project costs and schedules are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities

Manage estimators and assistant estimators
Prepare quantity take-offs
Determine initial production rates
Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
Reviewing bids from vendors or contractors to ensure they are fair and reasonable
Coordinating with other managers to ensure schedules are met and projects are completed on time
Reviewing progress on projects and adjusting schedules as needed
Estimating materials costs and labor hours needed to complete projects
Managing a team of employees to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively
Ensuring that contractors meet safety standards and comply with local regulations
Reviewing finished products to ensure that they meet quality standards
Keeping records of all project details and documentation such as contracts, bids, and correspondence
Develop initial resource requirements
Solicit material and subcontractor pricing
Establish preliminary project schedules
Qualification
Required
4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or related experience
5-8 years estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience (at least 4 years estimating experience) in similar facility construction
Thorough knowledge of company procedure, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required
Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate and supervise group work effort essential
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with vendors, management, and other coworkers, both individually and in front of a group
Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential
Thorough knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid and Microsoft office
Sitting for extended periods of time is common
Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents
Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculator, copiers, and fax machines
Good reasoning ability is important, must be able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business
Must be able to stand or walk on a project site for extended durations
Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: earplugs, protective eyewear, gloves, hard hat, steel-toed work boots, and high visibility safety apparel
