Energy Efficiency Engineer

Responsibilities

Conducting deep-dive technical energy efficiency studies of industrial and commercial mechanical systems
Working with industrial and commercial customers to scope and develop energy efficiency projects
Performing high-level energy engineering analyses to inform customer decision making
Performing retrocommissioning / building controls optimization efforts
Working with mechanical contractors to scope commercial HVAC energy efficiency projects and communicating utility incentive program requirements
Conducting on-site measurement and verification of energy projects
Writing clear and concise technical reports for technical and non-technical audiences
Supporting Strategic Energy Management (SEM) at commercial and industrial sites

Required

Engineering degree and/or great experience required
At least 4 years' experience in the energy efficiency or mechanical engineering field
Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building science
Experience analyzing commercial and industrial energy systems and quantifying annual energy savings
Experience conducting ASHRAE Level II Audits
Ability to identify mechanical and electrical equipment in the field and explain control methods and what retrofits or changes can be implemented to conserve energy
A high energy, self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Capability of working autonomously and collaboratively on a team, with good project and time management skills
Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
Excellent Excel skills
