MRI Technologist - Jefferson Health North Region

Responsibilities
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
Processes and evaluates the technical quality of images, such as density contrast, definition and distortion
Maintains critical positioning of the patient and equipment during flow of the contrast media to ensure safety of the patient and success of examination results
Instructs patients on body positioning procedures during MRI exams and testing; demonstrates effective communications with all patients by explaining the MRI procedure both before and after scanning and answers all patient questions
Determines equipment requirements for procedures based on the physician’s tentative diagnoses, and scout films necessary for physician’s preliminary viewing
Maintains MRI equipment by performing scheduled cleaning, testing and documenting results; notifies supervision of malfunctioning equipment
Implements MRI safety guidelines and conducts proper MRI safety during the imaging process
Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program
6 months to 1 year experience preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Active MRI Certification
License as required by state
Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques and applications, ability to utilize imaging technology on patients for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes
Knowledge of and ability to prepare patients for diagnostic/radiological imaging and to monitor patients' reactions during and after a procedure. Responds to emergent situations by applying appropriate measures
