Financial Aid Specialist, Penn State DuBois
Penn State University is seeking a Financial Aid Specialist for the Office of Financial Aid at Penn State DuBois. The role involves providing service to students and families, assisting in the administration of financial aid, and maintaining knowledge of relevant regulations and policies.

Responsibilities
Maintaining a strong working knowledge of federal, state, and University financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures
Providing telephone, email correspondence, in-person, and virtual advising to students/families regarding financial aid
Providing administrative support to the campus scholarship program, and financial aid support to the study abroad program
Working closely with admission counselors at admission events, presentations, campus visits, and individual appointments
Collaborating with the Registrar and Finance offices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Excellent writing, oral, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills are required
Maintaining a strong working knowledge of federal, state, and University financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures
Providing telephone, email correspondence, in-person, and virtual advising to students/families regarding financial aid
Providing administrative support to the campus scholarship program, and financial aid support to the study abroad program
Working closely with admission counselors at admission events, presentations, campus visits, and individual appointments
Collaborating with the Registrar and Finance offices
Dedication to excellent customer service and desire to help students succeed
Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner with detailed and sensitive information
Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
High degree of accountability and attention to detail
Presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills are essential
Background checks including PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S
Preferred
Prior higher education financial aid administration is preferred
Proficiency in student information systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel are preferred
Experience with Financial Aid databases is preferred
