The Operating Room Technologist (ORT) is responsible for performing the duties of a scrub tech and assisting in operative procedures, ensuring safety-focused care for each patient by maintaining a sterile environment and supporting the surgical team.

Responsibilities
Perform the duties of a scrub tech and assist in operative procedures by case preparation of sterile instruments and supplies
Maintain strict aseptic technique
Support the surgeon throughout the case by anticipating needs as they arise and acting accordingly
Follow hospital policies and guidelines supported by AORN standards of care to provide safety focused care for each patient
Maintain the sterile field, interact with the surgical team to obtain and deliver necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment in an efficient and timely manner
Properly care for instrumentation both during and after the case, including proper decontamination and proper care and return of equipment and supplies
Observe and obtain information, understand the range of treatment needed by the patients, and report significant findings to the appropriate team members to ensure that the appropriate care is provided to each patient on an individualized basis
Report directly to the Clinical Manager of Surgical Services
Qualification
Required
1-3 years Healthcare experience with knowledge of sterile technique Required
CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
CST- Certified Surgical Tech
Preferred
High School Diploma
