Test Engineering Intern - Spring & Summer 2026

Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. The Test team is responsible for developing infrastructure to perform tests on fuel & hydraulic system components and works with hardware owners to define testing requirements and assist in data collection to inform design decisions.

Responsibilities

Design test fixtures and interfaces
Perform analysis to determine target test points, instrumentation, and ensure sufficient test safety margins
Organize and run test design reviews with stakeholders in cross-functional teams
Create manufacturing plans for test components/fixtures and work directly with manufacturing/build teams to monitor build progress and assist in resolving issues
Design and release flight-like hardware as necessary for test (including CAD and drawing creation)

Required

Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects
Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program)
Strong interest in testing
Strong understanding of engineering first principles
Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
GPA of 3.0 or above
