Payroll Administrator II in Payroll Department

Responsibilities
Responsible for semi-monthly payrolls, including, but not limited to, paysheet creation, Time and Labor Load, retroactive processing, running numerous audit queries, pay calculations, confirm, ACH, and positive pay creation. Prints, sorts, and distributes payroll checks for on-cycle and off-cycle check runs
Investigates and resolves any discrepancies related to paychecks
Maintains and files all supporting documents in a timely manner
Processes off-cycle checks as needed
Researches and responds to complex Payroll, Time, and Labor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Monitors, researches, and resolves inquiries from a shared Payroll email box and phone line
Creates and distributes Payroll reports as needed
Set up, processes, and maintains Child Support Garnishments
Responsible for Direct Deposit reversals, processing stop payments. Resolve Direct Deposits rejected by the bank
Processes overpayment collections
Assists with electronic payment inquiries and setting up paycards as needed
Assists in reconciling Payroll accounts as needed
Provides assistance with Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service for Payroll Time and Labor
Assists with Disaster Recovery testing
Assists with Fiscal and Calendar Year-End processes as needed
Presents New Hire Orientation to new employees onboarding
Assists with system update testing as needed
Backup for Office Supply and Travel purchases
Assists in special projects as assigned by management
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Payroll experience listed on your resume
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Detail oriented
Adheres to tight deadlines
Ability to work independently
Associate's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
Two years of payroll experience required
Experience with PeopleSoft 8.9 or greater and PeopleSoft Time and Labor
Experience with higher education or state payroll
Your experience needs to specify how you worked in payroll for at least two years on your resume and application
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
Preferred
FPC certification preferred
Kronos skills are preferred
