Parkview Health is seeking a Pharmacy Summer Clinical Intern to work with both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy teams. The intern will gain experience in operational tasks and have the opportunity to shadow advanced roles while assisting with inventory management and clinical review projects.

Responsibilities

Spend 5 weeks working with the inpatient pharmacy team and 5 weeks working with the outpatient pharmacy team

Develop an understanding of the wide array of pharmacy services offered by the pharmacy enterprise

Gain experience in operational tasks, as well as have the opportunity to shadow in more advanced roles such as clinical pharmacy or administration

Help with small inventory management or clinical review projects, based upon the needs of the department

Required

valid pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern license

current CNA EMT or Paramedic certification, or must take Parkviews Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire

2 years experience in a healthcare-related field training time will be determined based on experience

currently enrolled in a nursing school having completed first clinical rotations if hired prior to 12/3/18

two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted

current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire

good verbal and written communication skills

working knowledge of computer skills and applications

ability to critically think

able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds

Preferred

CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification

equivalent of health care experience and education

two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role

nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required)

previous experience in direct patient care through work and/or school program

bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire if assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center
