Senior Electrical Engineer - Hawaii
Brown and Caldwell (BC) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Hawaii. The role involves overseeing electrical design and management, mentoring staff, and collaborating on projects related to water and wastewater treatment.

Responsibilities
Serve as a project task manager, or perform as lead discipline (electrical and I&C) engineer and Electrical Engineer-of-record on projects as appropriate
Scope and budget projects, identify method of project execution, and coordinate staff assignments
Successfully manage and execute electrical designs to be on time and on budget using company systems and tools
Support business opportunities and assist in sales and marketing efforts (proposal preparation, interviewing, scope, fee, etc.)
Mentor other electrical and I&C engineers and designers
Perform contractor construction submittal reviews and request for information documents and general electrical design activities for water and wastewater treatment plant and pump station power systems. Field and site investigation of project work as required
Producing effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums
Communicate and interface with clients
Collaborate with a national team of technical experts in the Electrical and I&C group
Qualification
Required
BS in Electrical Engineering
Professional registration or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Minimum 10 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer working for government, municipal, and/or industrial water and wastewater industries
Ability to work with Designers in Revit/BIM environment along with AutoCAD P&ID
Experience in industrial power systems design (medium and low voltage systems), service entrance, feeder and branch circuits, lighting, emergency power and power generation and distribution equipment, power systems studies
Solid knowledge in the application of the National Electrical Code
Solid knowledge and understanding of electrical safety systems, NFPA 70E
Effective oral and written communication
Able to multi-task, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and work independently with a willingness to learn
Candidate should be a self-starter, results-oriented, be able to multi-task, and work under tight and pressured deadlines
Collaborate with other technical teams for design coordination
Ability to mentor and guide junior staff
Preferred
12-15+ years' experience as an Electrical Engineer working for government, municipal, and/or industrial water and wastewater industries
Supervisory and mentoring experience with electrical staff
Power system software design/modelling experience (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower)
Experience with renewable and alternative energy design a plus (solar, wind, cogeneration)
