Galls is the largest retailer specializing in Public Safety, serving over one million essential workers each year. They are seeking a part-time Tailor/Seamstress to alter uniforms and equipment for Public Safety professionals, ensuring all measurements and fittings are executed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Read and accurately identify the customer’s needs per the Work Instruction Document

Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations with ability to problem solve individual sizing issues

Operate a heat press safely and efficiently

Perform uniform sewing, alternations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches

Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent required

Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English

Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused - you're not happy with mistakes

Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred

Previous experience in Alterations preferred. Galls will train!

Well-versed on industrial Sewing machines preferred. Galls will train!
