CNC Programmer / Team Lead
GS Engineering is a leader in thermoforming tooling manufacturing, producing high-quality tooling for grained soft-touch interior automotive components for major global manufacturers. We are seeking a talented CNC Programming and Machining Supervisor to lead our skilled team, shape the next generation of machinists, and drive process excellence.

Responsibilities
Program 2D and 3D CNC machines using HyperMill CAM software
Create and modify tooling designs using SolidWorks CAD software
Execute machining operations with precision, ensuring part accuracy and meeting production deadlines
Optimize machining and design processes to enhance efficiency and quality
Lead and schedule the CNC production team, prioritizing execution, safety, and quality
Mentor apprentices through the state-registered apprenticeship program, providing hands-on training and feedback
Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to align on priorities
Drive innovation by adopting new machining and CAD technologies
Ensure quality control and maintain a safe, organized work environment
Qualification
Required
High school diploma and Completion of a State Registered Apprenticeship program required
3–7 years of experience in CNC programming, machining, and CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
1–2 years' experience in a supervisory or lead role
Strong knowledge of Tool & Die design, machining processes, and material properties
Exceptional leadership, execution, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills
High emotional maturity, resilience, and adaptability to new technologies
Ability to lift 10–50 pounds and perform physical tasks in a production environment
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field a plus
Experience in automotive tooling or thermoforming manufacturing preferred
Expertise in SolidWorks CAD software for tooling design
Experience in HyperMill CAM software for CNC programming preferred; experience with MasterCam
MasterCam certification is highly preferred
SolidWorks Professional or Associate certification (e.g., CSWP, CSWA)
Completion of HyperMill training courses (HyperMILL Training)
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
