Perform the essential functions of the Admissions Department, which can include Pre-Admission, Financial Counseling, Insurance Notification, Verification and Authorization, Management of Unscheduled Admissions in either Acute Care or Mental Health Admissions
Qualification
Required
Must demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology
Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of Government and Commercial Insurance Plans
Experience with registration and/or billings computer software programs
Experience in a hospital or medical office setting
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Managed Care plans
Demonstrated experience with referral authorization process
Demonstrated ability to utilize payer and government websites to access and interpret health plan benefit packages and make determinations
Preferred
Experience with computer software programs such as EPIC or other registration programs
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Ability to ensure proper billing or financial procedures for patients
