Swift Lee Office (SLO) is a full-service architectural firm committed to impactful community projects and sustainability. They are seeking a Project Designer with strong experience in educational and community-centered projects, who will work closely with firm leadership to produce and coordinate construction documents and support construction administration.

Responsibilities

Produce and coordinate construction documents
Resolve detailing
Support construction administration
Respond to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
Attend site meetings and inspections
Manage schedules, field memos, and contractor coordination
Lead building permit approvals and act as primary contact with building officials

Required

Professional degree in architecture
Minimum 6 years of experience in a high-quality architectural firm in California
Proven leadership and coordination skills across all project phases—from concept design through construction administration
Strong understanding of sustainable and energy-efficient design principles, along with construction materials, methods, and building systems
Direct construction administration experience, including: Responding to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings; Attending site meetings and inspections; Managing schedules, field memos, and contractor coordination
Experience leading building permit approvals and acting as primary contact with building officials
DSA experience is required, with prior work for school districts such as LAUSD or PUSD
Working knowledge of CBC Chapters 11A & 11B and accessible design standards
Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. SLO is not able to sponsor H-1B visas
English fluency required

Preferred

Experience with tax-credit affordable housing projects (LIHTC)
