Orthopedic Service Line Summer Clinical Intern
Parkview Health is offering a dynamic summer clinical internship for students passionate about healthcare. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals in both clinical and non-clinical settings, gaining exposure to various career paths while contributing to projects that align with departmental and personal goals.

Responsibilities
Work alongside experienced healthcare professionals
Gain exposure to various aspects of the service line in both clinical and non-clinical settings
Select a project that aligns with departmental and personal goals
Participate in projects such as Hand Hygiene Improvement and Infection Prevention in the OR Environment
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a healthcare-related program
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Must meet one of the following requirements: current CNA, EMT, or Paramedic certification or must take Parkview's Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire
2 years experience in a healthcare related field; training time will be determined based on experience
Currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations if hired prior to 12/3/18
Two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted
Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire
CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education
Two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role OR a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required)
Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications
Demonstrates ability to critically think
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds
Preferred
CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education
Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school program
