Education Management

Responsibilities

Maintaining, checking and auditing budgetary records, and for the preparation of financial reports

Evaluating the reliability and integrity of information generated for financial reporting

Reviewing compliance with policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations for the purpose of reporting results and making recommendations to management of the schools and the governing Boards

Participating in process and internal control improvement initiatives

Performing other related duties as assigned

Required

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and less than one year of accounting experience

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration, or related field with a minimum of 18 semester credit hours in accounting plus 2 years of experience in accounting

An equivalent combination of training experience as defined by the limit of (A), (B), above

Good knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and terminology

The ability to interpret laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the preparation of financial reports

Columbia County Civil Service residency requirements will apply (must be a resident of Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia, Greene, Ulster or Dutchess County at time of hire)
