The role involves developing, preparing, and executing training materials in technical subject areas related to nuclear weapons, with a focus on safeguards and security, design and utilization, and classification policy.

Responsibilities

Develop, prepare, and execute Department of Energy (DOE) training materials in highly technical subject areas relating to nuclear weapons
Demonstrate expertise in nuclear weapons Safeguards and Security, design and utilization, and classification and declassification policy
Provide instruction in all three focus areas, including modern training techniques and the development of course syllabuses

Required

Candidates MUST possess an active DOE Q clearance or an active DoD Top Secret clearance
Established familiarity, to the point of being considered a subject matter expert within DOE, in at least one of the focus areas: Nuclear weapons Safeguards and Security, Nuclear weapons design and utilization, Classification and declassification policy
At least two (2) years of direct training experience as an instructor
Experience with modern training techniques encompassing the development of course syllabuses, student evaluations, recognition of individual student requirements, and utilization of computer-based training systems
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university OR an equivalent combination of certified training and experience

Preferred

DOE qualified as a Derivative Classifier (DC), Derivative Declassifier (DD), and as an Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information Reviewing Official (UCNI RO)
A Bachelor's Degree or a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in a scientific discipline (i.e., physical sciences, engineering, or mathematics)
