Responsibilities
Performs the technical aspects of all computerized tomography exams
Administers contrast media necessary for procedures
Utilizes proper safety and radiation protection techniques
Operates all computerized tomography equipment and performs all technical calibrations and maintenance required by the equipment manufacturer
Assists in performing first aid and CPR as necessary
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objective quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control
Maintains departmental records, reports, and files as required
Maintains patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of PHI
Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct
Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns appropriately
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Completion of formal radiology technology program
Current State of Texas license
current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment, before patient care is administered independently
Preferred
three years as a registered radiologic technologist
Documented supervised performance of a minimum of 125 repetitions of computed tomography procedures according to the criteria of the ARRT
