Responsibilities

Automate backups & restore drills; document RPO/RTO; close gaps

Tune indexes/stats/plans; resolve hotspots/locks; advise developers

Manage RBAC, credentials, patch cycles; plan low-downtime windows

Build DB perf dashboards; thresholds/alerts; on-call runbooks

Maintain DR playbooks & replication/snapshots; test failovers

Review schema changes; support migrations/backfills

Provide optimized views/materializations; document dictionaries

Coordinate encryption/secrets/audit logging with DevSecOps

Publish monthly health/capacity reports; optimize scaling/costs

Train engineers/analysts on query efficiency and safe changes

Required

Federal experience is mandatory, with preference for candidates who have worked with HHS (Health and Human Services) or ACF (Administration for Children and Families)
