Rita Levine Rabin Hillel at Hunter College is a Jewish leadership and education organization looking for a part-time social worker to support the diverse needs of their student body. Responsibilities

Engage with students in one-on-one, short-term check-ins to provide a supportive space to discuss challenges
Provide appropriate referrals, including mental health services for students who require ongoing support
Maintain a comprehensive directory of resources to ensure students are referred to services that meet their needs and financial situation
Complete all required documentation in a timely manner
Ensure the smooth operation of the monthly grocery program in partnership with MetCouncil. This involves communication, student outreach, registration, and on-the-ground coordination
Oversee the provision of weekly affordable kosher lunch meals on a sliding scale. This includes assessing needs, determining costs, coordinating orders, and distribution
Track program participation and provide necessary referrals to ensure students receive comprehensive food support
Act as the primary liaison and coordinator for our career services partner, CommonPoint Queens
Organize an annual meeting with Hunter Hillel alumni to help graduating seniors transition into their professional lives
Coordinate biannual free professional headshot sessions for students
Supervise and support our two annual graduate social work interns, contributing to Hunter Hillel's role as a teaching space for future social workers
Work with undergraduate student leaders to help them plan and execute wellness events
Build collaborative relationships with students and on-campus groups to activate student-centered wellness initiatives

Qualification

Required

Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), with a license preferred
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
Self-starter who can take initiative and work well both independently and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Experience with college-age students is preferred
Experience in a Jewish non-profit, higher education, or experiential wellness organization
Past Hillel, camp, or community-based wellness experience preferred
Commitment to cultivating an inclusive and welcoming environment
