Area Sales Manager – Pharma & Biotechnology Core Industry (Mid-Atlantic)

Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Responsible for sales growth and achievement of annual sales and profit goals within the P&B Core Industry in a specific geography
Complete and implement Account and Territory plans and provide accurate and timely forecasting information
Prepare and present the Burkert portfolio of products, systems and solutions defined target customers
Assist in driving the specifications of Burkert Solutions at: OEMs, P&E firms, Distribution Partners, Integrators and End Users
Responsible for business growth by driving specification of Burkert Pharma and Biotech products in the earliest stages of a project or OEM opportunity
Regular input into the Customer Relationship Management tool (Microsoft Dynamics, including contacts, meetings and opportunities, in) to ensure global alignment and transparency
Support customers and distributors in your area in their sales and marketing efforts
Negotiate contracts with new and existing distribution partners, including regular updates on strategic initiatives, inventory selection and management, and defined targets
Training of distribution partners, customers and new prospects on products and tools (e-shop)
Adhere to published expense policy and expense budgets

Required

50% or higher depending on region, expectation is to travel as much as necessary to support your customers
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent certified completed technical training courses
5+ years of sales and technical experience in the specific market required
A proven track record of success
Energetic hunter mentality with an entrepreneurial spirit
Strong customer focus and attention to detail
Negotiation skills and ability to compile and present project quotations
Day-to-day work activities are prioritized appropriately within work routines
Highly motivated and self-driven to perform at a high level
Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
Able to work closely within a team as well as contribute individually
Ability and motivation to self-train for continued personal and professional development
ERP (such as SAP) and CRM experience
Engineering skills such as complex problem-solving, capacity calculations, reviewing datasheets and internal engineering documentation
