Tooling Engineer

Responsibilities
Design and develop custom tooling, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software that support rapid prototyping and large-scale production
Own the fabrication, assembly, wiring, and validation of tooling, fixtures, and test systems
Ensure tooling design meets safety, ergonomic, and operational requirements
Collaborate with machinists, welders, engineers, and technicians to optimize designs
Provide troubleshooting for production tool issues
Qualification
Required
Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
3+ years of tooling or fixture design experience
Proficient in a 3D CAD package (such as Solidworks, CATIA, NX, etc.)
Knowledge of GD&T and machining processes
Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
Preferred
Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
Experience in automotive, aerospace, or similar industries requiring custom tooling and complexity
Knowledge of additive manufacturing for rapid tooling
Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints
Lean manufacturing and ergonomic design knowledge
