Responsibilities
Managing the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Leading the coordination of the annual audit and working with external auditors
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and internal financial regulations
Supervising and mentoring accounting staff, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration
Overseeing daily accounting operations and supporting strategic financial initiatives
Collaborating with internal departments and external partners to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Participating in special projects and identifying opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements
Supporting mission-aligned financial decision-making through data-driven insights
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other relevant fields
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience
Active Certified Public Accountant certification in good standing
Experience with financial reporting and compliance
In-depth understanding of technical generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Ability to communicate specific internal control requirements and identify and correct deficiencies
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
Preferred
Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other relevant fields
Prior experience in public accounting with either tax or audit work
Experience in nonprofit or higher education finance
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism
Detail-oriented, proactive, and team-focused mindset
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
