Temporary Audiology Resident

Responsibilities

Selects and provides appropriate direct clinical services in the evaluation and (re)habilitation of hearing disorders for adults and children, following all relevant regulations and professional guidelines
Administers and interprets audiological tests, including pediatric behavioral testing such as visual reinforcement audiometry and conditioned play audiometry
Conducts hearing aid consultations, evidence-based fitting/verification using real ear measurements, and device orientations, all under the supervision of full-time audiologists
Supports audiologists in device checks following ANSI standards
Maintains appropriate records of clinical services; cooperates with other professionals in client care, billing, medical records, and other needs

Required

Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of coursework in a graduate audiology program
Experience with audiological testing and hearing aid evaluations and fitting
Technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate
Ability to perform screening, assessment, intervention, and related tasks as delineated in the ASHA Scope of Practice for Audiology
Ability to read, write, edit, and explain clinical documentation and medical records, including documentation for billing and insurance, correctly and independently
Familiarity with current hearing aid manufacturers, models, and fitting
