Responsibilities

Submit compliant and compelling products on time. York Proposal Managers follow modified Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) best practices throughout the proposal lifecycle. They evaluate products, develop content, and direct cross functional teams to achieve the following: Compliance: Address solicitation requirements and follow instructions

Responsiveness: Demonstrate how York meets or exceeds customer’s needs

Readability: Write a customer-focused narrative in York’s voice (clear, concise, well organized, and accurate)

Visual Appeal: Format the document and graphics for easy reading

Win Strategy: Consistently document win themes throughout proposal and tie them to evaluation criteria

Develop a tailored proposal management plan (compliance matrix, schedule, and templates) based on the opportunity and leadership direction

Participate in strategy sessions to implement win themes throughout the proposal; collaborate with BD, Volume Leads, and other stakeholders during these sessions

Review and edit all proposal content

Liaise with leadership to inform, incorporate feedback, and align expectations

Be responsible for Configuration Control

Required

Bachelor's degree

Exceptional writing skills developed over 5+ years of experience as a proposal manager and / or proposal writer

Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interview SMEs and facilitate discussions across functional organizations

Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage resources, expectations, and communications to meet schedule milestones (pre-proposal planning activities, kick-off, proposal development, reviews, final product approvals, submission, and post-proposal activities)

Willing to be a part of a team; this includes jumping in when needed to complete tasks possibly outside the Proposal Manager/Writer job description to better the team

Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Preferred

Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility

Professional experience in the aerospace industry, preferably in proposals or business development

APMP certification, Shipley training, or similar professional training
