Responsibilities
Support the execution of the genetic improvement strategy and train staff and technical site leads for successful implementation across multiple domestic and international sites
Support the genetic improvement strategy communication across the elite farm system to encourage understanding and alignment to objectives and goals
Executing genetic improvement protocols for routine and special projects
Provide Supply Chain with monthly reports for internal and external use
Assist the planning and execution of genetic dissemination of elite animals across the global elite farms
Provide remote support for data acquisition, including troubleshooting software and hardware
Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyses information and standard practices to make judgments
Interpreting and analyzing data using statistical techniques
Travel approximately 40-50%, domestic and international
Qualification
Required
University Degree in Animal or Meat Science, Animal Breeding and Genetics or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience within livestock production systems, including experience in genetic production and training experience
Working knowledge of contemporary record-keeping systems
A minimum of 4 years of experience with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
Must not co-habitat or live on the same premises with any person who works with swine and/or with people that are in routine contact with swine
Preferred
Advanced Degree in Animal or Meat Science, Animal Breeding and Genetics or related field
