Responsibilities
Building and managing a high-performing substation engineering team
Overseeing the execution of substation projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence
Supporting regional and national growth strategies by identifying market opportunities, developing client relationships, and aligning team capabilities with business objectives
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients in the area
Working with the national technical leaders to guide the technical direction of the substation discipline, promoting continuous improvement, and supporting the development of specialized expertise
Working with Client Managers, Operational Managers, and Technical Leaders to ensure seamless integration of services and consistent delivery of world-class solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
10 years of experience
Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred
Previous staff supervision experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Design experience with high voltage electrical switchyard and substation projects of varying complexity up to 500kV, including at a minimum, conceptual knowledge of P&C design and knowledge of IEEE ANSI, and other applicable design standards
Experience using industry standard design software (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation)
Ability to travel, less than 10%
Actively engaged in professional or industry associated to enhance HDR's technical expertise and brand
Local candidates are preferred
