Responsibilities
Managing a high-performing substation physical engineering team
Overseeing the technical execution of substation projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget compliance
Assisting with developing proposals to include technical writing and project estimating within the area of technical expertise
Supporting the Substation Business Class Manager’s growth strategies by identifying and developing specific technical expertise
Attending trainings to further develop understanding of complex concepts related to their discipline
Working with Client Managers, Operational Managers, and Technical Leaders to ensure seamless integration of services and consistent delivery of world-class solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
7 years related experience
A minimum 2 years project management experience
Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus)
Demonstrated leadership skills
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred
10 years of Substation design experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Extensive experience in project execution within the Power industry
Previous staff supervision experience
Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
Previous experience managing the commercial aspects of small to medium sized projects
Experience and client relationships in the Carolinas
Previous experience managing staff, clients, contracts and hiring staff for an engineering consulting firm
Local candidates are preferred
