Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of faculty and in collaboration with experienced former research assistants, the employee will perform detailed dissections on human specimens, assist in the preparation and maintenance of materials, and document observations and findings
Assists in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and samples
Analyzes and processes laboratory samples or research data
Keeps detailed logs of all work-related activities
Uses computers, computer-interfaced equipment, robotics or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties as needed
Assists in evaluating research methods, procedures, and techniques based on established objectives as requested
May assist in report writing and/or perform library research
Performs other duties as assigned or required
Qualification
Required
Excellent manual dexterity and attention to fine details
Willingness to work with human donor specimens in a laboratory setting
Ability to follow detailed dissection protocols and maintain appropriate laboratory technique where applicable
Strong observational and documentation skills, including the ability to record minute findings accurately and systematically
Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Successful completion (or current enrollment) in an anatomy course or equivalent coursework
Preferred
Prior research or dissection experience
