Responsibilities

Preparation, identification, positioning, protection and radiographic technique Demonstrates competence in the preparation, identification, positioning, protection and radiographic technique of all imaging procedures
Preparation/Set-Up Prepares room orientation based on procedure and sets up sterile tables, medrad injector, table contrast, heparinized saline, has all possible equipment ready including ultrasound, angiojet, cryoplasty. Ensures safety checks done on room each day
Technique Employee uses proper techniques that minimize radiation exposure to self, patients the general public and other health care personnel. Modifies care according to patient’s age
Clinical Practice Provides patient care and service with compassion, dignity and respect
Self/Organizational Improvement Continually strives to suggest and implement ways to improve personal, departmental and organizational performance

ARRT Registered Radiologic TechnologistBLS ACLS certificationRadiographic equipmentHemodynamic monitoring equipmentRadiation safetyRecognize cardiac rhythmsScrub experienceComputer skillsCathetersWiresCommunication skills

Required

ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist with MA License
BLS ACLS required
2 years in special procedures or cardiac cath strongly preferred
Knowledge of all radiographic equipment
Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Knowledge of radiation safety
Knowledge of anatomy
Computer skills
Vast knowledge of all catheters, wires, and revascularization tools and their applications
Ability to recognize cardiac rhythms
Ability to recognize abnormal lab values and changes in the patients' status
Ability to appropriately communicate these changes to the team
Ability to scrub assist on all procedures as directed by the physician and within the scope of practice
Uphold ethical and professional conduct as stated by the ARRT Code of Ethics
Flexibility to work overtime as needed as well as on-call duty as department needs dictate

Preferred

CV, CI, VI or RCIS Registry preferred
Scrub experience preferred
