Responsibilities

Lead the development, formulation, and execution of annual and multi-year budgets for DoD programs
Provide financial analysis and reporting to support programmatic decisions, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions
Oversee accounting operations to ensure accurate tracking of obligations, expenditures, and cost allocations
Prepare budget justifications, cost estimates, and financial forecasts in support of program requirements and acquisition strategies
Ensure compliance with DoD financial management regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Partner with program managers and senior leadership to align budgetary resources with strategic objectives
Monitor budget execution, assess variances, and ensure efficient resource utilization
Support program planning and performance reviews with financial insights and scenario modeling
Mentor and guide junior finance and accounting staff to build organizational financial management capacity

Required

Active Top Secret security clearance
Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting and audit experience, preferably with direct DoD program exposure
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential
Demonstrated expertise in budget formulation, execution, and financial reporting
Knowledge of DoD financial management regulations, PPBE process, and federal financial systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred

Previous experience directly supporting Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA)
Master's degree
TS/SCI preferred
