Responsibilities

Responsible for scope development, monitoring, and progress of design, fabrication, installation, and testing by engineering vendor for ride and show control systems
Reviews and evaluates activities of vendors and sub-contractors on an ongoing basis with regard to product quality and compliance to specifications to ensure technical integrity and creative intent are met
Ensures all ride and show equipment maintains the highest level of safety in accordance with Universal Specifications, accepted manufacturing practices, and local standards
Provides technical guidance and vendor management of the design, fabrication, and day-to-day detailed installation, test and adjust, and validation activities in the field
Coordinate design & installation of control systems across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure seamless integration
Oversees all technical interaction with vendors, sub-contractors, and stakeholders involved with ride and show systems. Ensures all systems integrate to achieve intended design
Enforces ride and show technical and safety principles to provide a quality product and necessary deliverables
Supports and advises the Project Manager on how best to achieve this goal, and keeps Universal Destination and Experiences Core Engineering & Safety briefed on progress and issues
Advises, coordinates with, and is accountable to the Project Manager regarding the status and engineering quality of ride and show systems including areas of risk or potential future risks
Mentor and support junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering from accredited four-year program; Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferable
3+ Years of vendor management experience, specifically in oversight of in-field installation and validating technical completeness of designs and deliverables to industry standards
5+ years of experience in controls engineering, including vendor management and field installation
Deep understanding of industry standards and codes (such as ISO, NEC, IEC as relates to Machine Safety) and able to develop, review, and execute testing programs to ensure safety and reliability of control systems
Ability & willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays with short notice

Preferred

Advanced Familiarity with Rockwell Automation, RS Logix, and RS Views
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and time management skills
Excellent technical oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and management, and willingness to give assistance to co-workers in other areas. Strong team player
Experience working in a union environment
Theme Park specific experience is preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD
