Test Engineering Technician, Weekend Shift (2025-098)

Responsibilities
Performs electrical, mechanical or software troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning test equipment
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment
Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts
Perform preventive maintenance of test fixtures, cables, thermal chambers, vibration systems and a variety of other equipment
Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment
May perform equipment modifications as directed by test/manufacturing engineers
May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment and ordering standard parts
Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of electro-mechanical systems, and specialized test equipment
Assists in the construction, test and check-out of test equipment, may include documentation markup
Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus
May be required to train Production Test Technicians
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or related field/ equivalent electronics military schooling and experience required
High-power electronics and/or high-power avionics technician experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Total qualifying experience must meet the years, duties, skills and proficiency required to perform the position level standards
Demonstrates competency (typically 2-4 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position)

Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of test equipment and services

Systems Analysis — Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
Time Management (Of self) – Effectively manage own time to be able to complete a job on time as scheduled

Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming

As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible
