Responsibilities

Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling
Global SME with comprehensive knowledge and industry recognition. Provides technical leadership and direction to a global team of engineers
Take responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project (people, financials etc.)
Review and interpret customer specifications and may act as primary customer contact
Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions. Develop deployment strategies and plans
Lead the deployment of strategic technologies/programs and coordinate global deployment efforts
May manage relationships with key vendors/partners
Prepare calculations on the proposed solution before completing technical drawings
Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. Sketch and draw up designs using input from other engineers, requirements and input from design review (DFx) team
Create designs in line with company procedure, regulations and client standards
Submit drawings to management, engineering teams and customers for review
Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines
Provide support during the manufacturing process
Finalize designs and send prints to the production department

Required

11 to 14 years of experience in mechanical design or related field
Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to develop new mechanical systems/modules and maintain existing designs
Experience with 3D modeling and simulation software
Ability to complete calculations and test, validate, and qualify mechanical systems
Experience providing support throughout the manufacturing process of mechanical systems
Ability to work with cross functional teams of engineers, customers, supply chain, and project leadership
Experience enhancing designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design, and simulations
Ability to lead the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects
Comprehensive knowledge and industry recognition as a global SME
Ability to provide technical leadership and direction to a global team of engineers
Experience analyzing trade-offs in complex systems and recommending solutions
Ability to develop deployment strategies and plans
Experience managing relationships with key vendors/partners
Ability to prepare calculations on proposed solutions before completing technical drawings
Experience designing, modifying, and implementing systems that meet customer and company needs
Ability to create designs in line with company procedures, regulations, and client standards
Experience submitting drawings to management, engineering teams, and customers for review
