Senior Workplace Counsel - Northeast Region

Panda Restaurant Group is seeking a Senior Workplace Counsel to manage and advise on legal compliance related to workplace issues. The role involves conducting legal research, preparing responses to administrative claims, and providing training to HR and Operations teams.

Responsibilities

Manages, advises, and reviews all administrative charges or complaints from state and federal agencies, including the EEOC, California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and Department of Labor
Conducts legal research and analyses, and prepares responses to administrative claims. Monitors the status of open administrative claims and charges
Prepares curriculum on workplace issues and provides training for Human Resources and Operations to ensure legal compliance and best employment practices
Conducts legal research and analysis of employment laws and regulations for senior leadership, HR, and Operations to provide guidance and to achieve compliance balanced with business needs. Helps develop policies and procedures that reflect best practices
Works with other departments and Operations to create effective solutions to workplace issues. Develops workplace policies and procedures consistent with current laws and regulations governing the workplace
Manages outside counsel and consultants on employment litigation matters
Oversees, mentors, and trains less experienced Workplace Counsel and paralegals

Required

JD degree and licensed to practice law
7+ years of relevant experience
Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings
Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position
Active driver's license
Ability to drive in locations that requires ground transportation during the course of work
