The role involves providing senior-level systems engineering and analysis support, leading working groups, conducting requirements analysis, and developing technical management processes for the Integrated Combat Systems development effort.

Responsibilities
Providing technical review and recommendations on ICS systems engineering 'V' issues to include concepts of operations, requirements, software architecture, detailed design, integration, test, verification, validation, training, fielding, operation and maintenance
Leading systems engineering working groups or cross-organization product teams
Conducting requirements analysis and traces
Developing draft technical management and governance processes for the Program Office
Developing courses of action, information and decision briefs for senior leaders
Providing technical assessments, evaluations, and analysis on System of System problems and their impact on the Warfighter
Assisting with program certification activities
Translating Surface Navy culture and concepts to engineers with little or no military experience
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 15-20 years US Navy surface warfare experience gained while serving on active duty as a senior enlisted or officer on Aegis ships or ashore sites, SSDS ships or land based test sites, or a federal government or original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engineering experience working on defense programs, or a combination of both to meet the 15-20 years' requirement
Three (3) years of systems engineering experience with an emphasis on naval combat system software design, test and integration
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and/or Digital Engineering
Two (2) years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must have detailed knowledge of combat systems equipment and computer programs
Excellent organizational skills and be able to perform efficiently and effectively on multiple projects under tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the BCI team and customers
Applicants must be US citizens
Applicants will be subjected to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to SECRET information
Preferred
Experience with Agile project management methodology, DevSecOps and Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira, Gitlab)
A formal degree supporting systems engineering or software engineering
