Sensor Quality Engineer

They are seeking a Sensor Quality Engineer to refine the sensor quality infrastructure, ensure effective manufacturing, and deliver quality products to customers while complying with various requirements.

Responsibilities
Understanding the design, function and operation of STA sensors, and applying this knowledge to the development of a comprehensive quality program in support of sensor industrialization, sensor manufacturing, and sensor service during over a lifetime of 10 years
Collaborating with Design Engineering on the quality manufacturing infrastructure, including assuring that test fixture design and usage are well documented across the full build cycle from incoming QC inspections through subsystem testing through final acceptance to enable efficient production with high reliability results
Coordinating and guiding development of quality control processes and fixtures at key vendors. Establishing and monitoring quality metrics for all vendor provided components
Evaluating ISO, internal and customer requirements and creating quality system products and documentation. Achieving and maintaining compliance with these requirements
Providing expertise and guidance to our Sensor Research and Development and Manufacturing across the lifecycle of existing and new sensor products to ensure that our products have high quality and reliability built in
Establishing and monitoring quality metrics for each of the products in the sensor portfolio as they transition from the development environment to a production environment
Performing quality analyses such as FMEA and root cause; MTBF, Inherent Availability and similar lifecycle metrics
Leading the analysis, documentation, and customer reporting of repaired products through our maintenance depot. Providing product and process recommendations for changes based on failure analysis. Providing expertise in the development of a manual depot monitoring system and then the transition to a web-based computerized monitoring system
Assuring that experience gathered through failure analysis and feedback from Customer Technical Services is fed back to the development and manufacturing teams
Establishing and supporting with data the justification of the criticality of system upgrades in a highly change-adverse environment
Qualification
Required
BS in Electrical Engineering with experience in electronic component manufacturing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work closely to resolve technical issues within a diverse team across several time zones
The ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects, and timeline pressure to meet deadlines
Comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums, across many levels of management and to a diverse range of stakeholders
U.S. citizenship required
Willingness and ability to obtain and hold a US Government Security Clearance
Must be able to support occasional domestic and international business travel
Preferred
Experience as a quality engineer in electronic component manufacturing
Experience in quality systems infrastructure and metrics for products that include electronics and mechanical components
Experience with quality systems related to software and/or optics/lasers
Relevant quality system experience in an ISO 9001 environment
Experience with other ISO standards
Experience with compliance with international shipping regulations
Experience with product certification, such as NRTL and CE
