They are seeking a Software Engineer II for their AI Platform team to design and scale systems that support Generative AI capabilities, focusing on building robust services and tools that enhance product development and user experiences.

Responsibilities
Help execute WHOOP's vision to build and scale the use of Generative across our Core product
Develop backend features and services, leveraging Java, AWS, and PostgreSQL to deliver scalable and reliable software solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, and Data Science—to gather technical requirements and deliver impactful infrastructure and tools
Design abstraction layers that empowers Product and Software teams to leverage Generative AI in the WHOOP product
Consistently deliver high-quality code, adhering to best practices in software design and development
Develop and maintain observability and monitoring systems to ensure the stability and reliability of deployed features
Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Experience in backend development, working on large-scale software systems
Experience building applications on top of Large Language Models
Expertise in API design and development (preferably with Java)
Experience in relational database design and development (SQL)
Experience with scalable system design and performance optimization
Strong independent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
