Power Distribution Automation Engineer
Aluminum Dynamics, LLC is seeking a Power Distribution Automation Engineer to monitor and improve power systems performance related to plant operations. The role involves maintaining software backups, ensuring safety, developing technician skills, and performing diagnostic testing on power systems equipment.

Responsibilities
Monitor power systems performance related to plant operations and make improvements in these areas
Maintain backups of all software related to power distribution & water treatment operation and support systems
Ensure work group safety and a safe work environment for the entire department relating to changes in process control
Develop technicians troubleshooting skills and programming skills
Keep the work group and department up to date on changes affecting mill operations
Make program changes to protection relays and PLCs as necessary
Maintain the automation hardware and programming interfaces
Perform diagnostic testing on power systems equipment to determine trends toward equipment failures
Monitor SCADA systems operation and provide monthly data to accounting for budgeting
Qualification
Required

Proven logical approach to troubleshooting
Automation system programming capabilities
Ability to teach and develop electrical technicians
Ability to work in a team
4-year Engineering Degree
Preferred
Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience with SEL and Siemens protection relays
Experience with Siemens PLCs and TIA Portal
Experience with fault analysis
Experience with IEC 61850 communication protocol
