Generation Project Development Leader (Power & Energy)

WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Generation Project Development Leader to play a key leadership role in their Power & Energy engineering team. This operational role is responsible for team engagement, business growth, and performance while supporting customers through the concept and development phases of their projects, focusing on both thermal and renewable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Create and deploy a plan to drive greater value from key customers including potential for growth in portfolio-level Owner’s Engineers scopes or other repeatable/programmic work
Ideate, define, and deliver plans to support key tactical activities to support growth
Along with Business Development teams and the Global Client Program (GCP) goals, support a strong focus on key customers and opportunities that create the greatest value
Alongside Business Development, listen to customers to understand their needs and formulate WSP teams to provide solutions they require in a responsive manner
In order to provide holistic solutions that complement Generations’ core domain knowledge, the leader would draw from key resources across P&E and other WSP businesses (including internationally as needed) to prepare these solutions (e.g. interconnection and transmission studies, environmental due diligence, geotechnical support, planning)
While team staff is expected to be base loaded with Generation’s existing core detailed engineering staff, key hires will be needed with sufficient development experience needed to be effective in a dynamic environment
Where appropriate, guide select opportunities to position for conversion of Owner’s Engineering projects to detailed engineering
Manage existing team delivering Independent Engineering scopes. Coordinate growth for this offering in consultation with the Advisory business line

Required

Key leadership role in Power & Energy engineering team
