Responsibilities
Responsible for areas of specialty that include CSP, outpatient research functions, controlled substances and technical and support staff training
In conjunction with the pharmacist supervisor and pharmacy management, responsible for his/her area of specialty, which can include training, program development, development of procedures and continual analysis of current processes
These areas are all critical result areas that frequently involve very expensive items, automated technology and rigid quality control
Interpretation and problem solving skills are frequently used as well as precise manufacturing skills
Accurate record keeping and communication skills are essential
Qualification
Required
High School / GED plus one year of post high school education or related work experience
Self study or formal Technician Training to become Nationally Certified
Technicians will maintain their Pharmacy Technician Registration/License with the State of Vermont Board of Pharmacy
Technicians will maintain their National Certification
At least three to five years experience as a certified pharmacy technician
Demonstrable expertise in area of specialty
Competence in all areas of pharmacy technician practice
Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
Registered with the State of Vermont Office of Professional Regulation as a Pharmacy Technician
