The role involves operating ultrasonic equipment, performing sonographic examinations, and maintaining equipment while ensuring diagnostic images are produced for interpretation by physicians.

Responsibilities

Operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes

Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data

Records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed

Reviews physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedure

Job requires the ability to perform portable exams in a variety of settings

Qualification

Diagnostic Medical SonographyUltrasound/Sonography experienceARRT (S) certificationARDMS certificationBasic Life Support (BLS)

Required

Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) or Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider

At least 1 year of Ultrasound/Sonography experience preferred
