The Corporate Tax Associate will support various U.S. tax matters, conduct technical research, and contribute to tax compliance processes while developing financial models and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

Prepare tax analysis in support of business transactions and quarterly reporting requirements; conduct research and document positions

Assist with tax reporting requirements, including preparatory work in support of tax compliance, controversy, transfer pricing and tax accounting

Develop an understanding of the evolving tax law environment globally and begin to follow specific areas of tax policy

Proactively manage workload, anticipate impediments and communicate status of deliverables

Perform quantitative analysis to determine tax attributes, develop dynamic models with assumption-based inputs; document methodology and processes

Build and apply a base of tax technical knowledge that facilitates the optimization and accurate forecasting of AES' tax posture

Ensure timely, accurate and complete tax reporting results

Develop and maintain financial models and analytical tools to deliver reliable, data-driven insights

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing tax regulations and organizational needs

Required

Familiarity with financial statements, accounting concepts, and public company filing obligations

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a curious mindset and willingness to challenge assumptions

Ability to manage multiple work streams and competing priorities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and financial modeling; familiarity with Power Query is a plus
